An early practice in general common law which included a substantial proportion of Personal Injury work has become increasingly specialised. Personal Injury and Professional Negligence work have formed the vast majority of his practice for more than 15 years. Instructions in Personal Injury work are received on behalf of claimants and defendants. Chris has wide experience in handling occupational illness cases and has been instructed by claimants and defendants in occupational stress cases.

In Clinical Negligence work on behalf of claimants Chris has received a diversity of work ranging from dentistry to UV skin treatment and many instructions in gynaecological matters. He has experience in mis-diagnosed cancer cases of various types, as well as plastic surgery and breast re-construction cases. He has been junior counsel in brain damaged children cases on a regular basis. Chris also handles Professional Negligence, including barristers' and solicitors' negligence in handling litigation. He is listed as a Leading Junior in Legal 500 as attracting attention for his workplace accident cases and in Chambers' Clients Guide to the UK Legal Profession as a Leader at the Bar and a popular choice for both personal injury ands professional negligence work..

In Health and Safety criminal cases he appears in the Magistrates Courts and the Crown Court. Instructions have been received from local authorities, public corporations, public companies and small enterprises. The work has been of great variety, from explosions, carbon monoxide poisoning, legionnaires disease, electrocution, asbestos exposure, fairgrounds, the operation of fork lift trucks, unguarded machines, to slipping on oil in a superstore.
