Civil
As a member of Chambers' civil team Holly works across the broad array of chambers' civil practice, spanning personal injury, landlord and tenant, commercial and employment disputes. She has been instructed to appear in number of fast track personal injury claims and regularly advises on both liability and quantum. Holly has particular experience of RTA cases and recently appeared on behalf of a successful Claimant where it was alleged the the accident had been a sham. In addition to her general personal injury work Holly also enjoys appearing before the Criminal Injuries Compensation First Tier Tribunal, where she recently secured over £100,000 for a victim of a serious assault who suffered both physical and psychiatric injuries. Holly is confident dealing with landlord and tenant claims and commercial disputes and is hoping to build further on her employment practice in future.
Crime
Holly has a busy criminal practice encompassing both prosecution and defence work. She regularly appears in the Magistrates and Crown Courts, through which she has developed a significant body of trial experience while building on her understanding of common issues such as disclosure, hearsay, bad character, special measures and dangerousness. Holly has received instructions to defend in multi-handed cases, both co-defending and representing multiple defendants. She is confident representing defendants on appeal to the Crown Court. Since practicing at the criminal bar Holly has also been prosecuting on behalf of the Department of Work and Pensions, appearing in the full range of hearings from first appearance to trial, and has recently been listed as a grade 1 prosecutor on the CPS Advocate Panel, which she hopes will expose her to a wider range of prosecution work.
Family
Since joining Chambers Holly has developed a keen interest in family law. She regularly appears in both private and public law cases involving children and has experience of ancillary relief proceedings. She recently appeared on behalf of a parent at a contested interim care order hearing and has enjoyed appearing on behalf of children in various public law cases. Holly takes a confident and practical approach to dealing with contact disputes. She hopes to develop her family practice further in future.
