Rosina Cottage is a specialist Criminal practitioner with experience in serious criminal offences. She also has considerable experience in Family and child care, and is instructed by the Treasury Solicitor in Care Standard Tribunal work.
In her criminal work Rosina is instructed alone and as a Leading Junior, both to prosecute and defend in cases across a broad spectrum of specialist and general crime from white collar fraud, to murder, rape and child abuse, kidnap, drug trafficking offences and serious offences of violence.
Rosina is a Grade 4 prosecutor on the List of External Advocates for the CPS London on both the Fraud and Rape Lists.
She is on the grade B Panel of the Attorney General’s List of Prosecuting Counsel and is instructed as a Leading Junior by the RCPO in respect of complex Revenue fraud with experience in the areas of confiscation and disclosure. In the Legal 500 Clients' Guide 2007 Edition, Rosina is described as a "first class" Leading Junior who "stands out for her work on Eshragh and Others prosecuting seven defendants for Working Families Tax Credit fraud and R v Leedham in a PAYE and Revenue fraud confiscation."
Rosina is also a specialist, both prosecuting and defending, in cases involving vulnerable witnesses, especially children and adults involved in sexual cases - in the Legal 500 Clients' Guide 2009 edition she is described as "extremely sensitive where vulnerable witnesses are involved".
In her family work, Rosina concentrates on Public Law in the Principal Registry and the High Court, representing a number of Local Authorities, as well as representing children, guardians and parents. This is complemented by the Care Standard Tribunal work, acting on behalf of the Secretary of State opposing POCA and POVA appeals.

R v Brown and Others [2009] Leading Junior in prosecution of 4 defendants in respect of a Land Registry fraud, money laundering and confiscation, which after civil litigation, included the largest pay-out recorded by the Land Registry.
