Eleanor is instructed in a variety of criminal work, both for the Prosecution and Defence. She has considerable knowledge of drug offences having conducted a number of trials both on behalf of the CPS and RCPO. In particular Eleanor has been involved with Operation Branfield (R v Ashraf Chaudhrey and others CA, R v Vernett-Showers and others CA) for a number of years and therefore has extensive experience in PII matters and the use of informants.
Fraud is another area in which Eleanor practices regularly and has recently been led in an SFO trial (Tahir Tandoori Frozen Foods Ltd, R v Khatab and others). She also prosecutes on behalf of the DWP and RCPO. As a result of her work in Fraud and in Drugs offences, Eleanor deals frequently with confiscation matters, money laundering and other Proceeds of Crime Offences. She also covers regulatory work and lectured at the Local Authority Prosecutions Conference in May of this year.
Eleanor appears regularly in serious violence and sexual offences cases and has been lead in two lengthy child cruelty trials. She also has experience of football violence cases.
Eleanor has been volunteering for Fair Trials International since 1999 and has been involved in all aspects of their work including acting as an international observer of trials. She is currently instructed on their behalf in a corporate manslaughter case. As a result of this she also has experience in the Human Rights aspect of criminal work.
