9 Gough Square’s Giles Mooney successfully appeals dog attack case in the Court of Appeal.
On 8th April 2009 Lord Justice Rimer, Lord Justice Waller and Lord Justice Aikens gave Judgment in the case of Jones v Whippey [2009] EWCA 452. This case concerned questions of foreseeability of harm and what level of foresight is necessary for a finding of negligence.

Divisional Court gives guidance on the making of closure orders where serious nuisance or disorder has reduced or temporarily ceased: Robert McAllister successfully represented the respondent Commissioner of Police in Dumble v Commissioner of Police for the Metropolis, an appeal by way of case stated from the decision of the Thames Magistrates’ Court to make a closure order under section 2 of the Anti-social Behaviour Act 2003.

9 Gough Square’s Christopher Goddard has had the following success in the Court of Appeal: Craner v Dorset County Council (2008). The appellant local authority appealed against a decision that a personal injury suffered by the respondent involved a breach of the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 reg. 12 (3) and of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 reg.4.
