9 Gough Square is recognised as a leading and successful set in the field of Criminal Law with strength at all levels. Members have extensive experience of both prosecuting and defending and we believe this provides our barristers with a wider perspective, benefiting all clients.
Chambers is structured to provide clients with a choice of Counsel, with comparable experience and specialisation, at all levels within our set. Teams including silks or leading juniors are regularly instructed in complex cases.
All members combine professionalism with approachability. We pride ourselves in adopting a thoroughly realistic attitude to advice and advocacy as well as a willingness to act as part of a team. In particular we are aware of the need for prompt return of paperwork and for working to deadlines where required. To provide real depth of expertise in key areas, our Team has organised specialist groups of practitioners.
A significant amount of our work is in the Crown Courts on the South Eastern Circuit and we also appear frequently in the Court of Appeal. However, all team members do appear at other Crown Court centres in England and Wales.
