Practice Details
Jacob Levy undertook his pupillage in Chambers, reading with John Foy QC and John Reddihough (now a Circuit Judge).
Since that time he has forged a practice exclusively in Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence work with a smaller proportion of his practice comprised of Professional Negligence claims arising out of Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence cases that have gone awry.
Jacob’s practice is strongly Claimant based but he still manages a healthy smattering of Defence work. Slippers, trippers, nippers, wheezers, clippers, lifters, strainers, brainers and rear-end shunters are the staple diet of his Personal Injury practice. He has represented all the major Trade Unions over the years and lectures on many aspects of Personal Injury law.
Jacob’s Clinical Negligence practice is wholly Claimant oriented and he undertakes work in all areas of medical negligence; from birth accidents to misplaced swabs, as with his approach to Personal Injury work his motto is and has been: “No case too big-no case too small.” In fact his motto used to be; “Show me the Money”. A line he used to deliver with relish to insurance companies until Tom Cruise rang him up and appropriated it.

Publications
Jacob attempts to write for legal journals and is not averse to earning a few bob from reporting cases in Current Law and Kemp & Kemp.

Interests
Jacob spends his time avoiding skiing, sailing and horse riding; all pastimes for which he is temperamentally unsuited. For leisure he plays 5-a-Side Football each Thursday night and has done so for the last 20 plus years with the same steadily girth-expanding group of 9 friends. Other than this; detective novels, muddy guitar rock, films on DVD, cramming midnight pizza onto his plate, shoveling down cheesecake and fending off his children occupies his time.
His by line is: “Eat Football, Sleep Football-Practice PI”. Given his avowed intention to practice both “big and small”, he has chosen not to list any recent cases of interest. After all, today’s cases are tomorrow’s fish and chip wrappers.
For any relevant queries about any areas of Jacob’s practice or experience, you may contact the Clerks via email or telephone.
